Ossiach Abbey attracts a baroque scene. This is organized by CMA, the Carinthian Academy of Music.
The return of Fête Baroque. June 2-4 with everything that goes into a lavish party: great concerts, gourmet food and entertainment for the whole family.
The Baroque era was not only the period of great artists and composers, but also the heyday of Ossiach Abbey. So, this year the Carinthian Academy of Music celebrates a lavish summer festival again, bringing back the splendor of an entire era to Ossiach. As usual, the program focuses on the music that brings life to Ossiach Abbey from Friday to Sunday.
FIFA La Liberty
This year the young Austrian duo “David e Mia” will start a Fête Baroque, welcoming guests on the Abbey Terrace. So you can set the mood for the rest of the evening with cello and guitar along with the delicious “Street Food Baroque” culinary composition.
Historical atmosphere
After that, the bright crowd can look forward to a wonderful evening. Freymuth is already waiting for their grand opening concert in the historical setting. The four young musicians prefer to play “Freyen Muthes” and try to get as close as possible to the Baroque originals. An unforgettable experience for connoisseurs and those who want to become one.
for all the family
If you get up early on Saturday, you can easily hop into Fête Baroque by boat. We go with him, relaxed, back to the CMA, where we’re greeted by a great drum band. Then you can fully devote yourself to entertainment. And with berries a la family.
Baroque Games
Baroque games in XXL format, historic abbey tours, baroque horse shows from the Nockalm Friesian stud farm, romantic meadow café and much more are on offer.
intoxicating tones
This brilliant spectacle is accompanied by a whole series of first-rate concerts that take place in and around Ossiach Abbey. Two absolute highlights: the performance of the genius “Duo Klak”, which together with the cartoonist Robert Horbst invites you to the sensual “Vinissimo” concerto to create a wonderful atmosphere with pen, accordion and clarinet. But also the wonderful presentation of the Carinthian Percussion Group, which makes the CMA shiver with its drumming.
senior actors
“On stage, please!” is the motto nearly every hour on Saturday. Theater fans can’t just be charmed by Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” or “Romeo and Juliet.” Other classics such as Goethe’s “Faust”, Schiller’s “The Maid of Orleans” or Molière’s “The Imaginary Invalid” can also be experienced in Fête Baroque in very different locations: from the magnificent Knights’ Hall to the romantic pleasure garden to the university. church.
Games and fun for the little ones
With makeup and costumes, young guests finally have the opportunity to feel like a prince or princess and follow in the footsteps of famous artists and cartoonists in the Illustration Workshop with cartoonist Robert Horbst. The offspring prefer to build castles in the air? Then the Klak duo will be happy to help and let them swell up a bit with each note. Once again, Rupert Hörbst’s sharp stylus ensures the accuracy of the images.
Conclusion La Grace
Of course, the jour du Seigneur is also celebrated in the Fête Baroque in the richly decorated collegiate chapel, where Johann Joseph Fux’s Solemn Mass forms the splendid finale to the grand festival. Those who prefer something a bit more cheerful can then move onto the cloister balcony, where the house music of Holta Hüttn and Salonorchester Imperial provide a nice conclusion.
