While Taucher celebrates another top division title, Legner/Riegler expands their dual title collection.
Austrian wheelchair tennis players once again showed their skills at ITF tournaments in London and Split and extended their impressive record on the international stage.
At the highest category (Grade A) junior event in London, 16-year-old Maximilian Tuscher (VTV) once again showed his talent at the highest level. Vorarlberger had already been victorious in doubles at a tournament in Knokke (also top-tier) the previous week and reached the final in singles. In London, Tusher confirmed his outstanding level and won the singles title, while he ranked second in doubles with his partner Robin Harris (Britain). In the singles final, Tuscher was able to avenge the final defeat in Knokke to his rival Ivar van Rijt (NED).
In Split, Croatia, the successful duo of Martin Legner (TTV) and Josef Riegler (NÖTV) played a big role in the ITF Future event. They left no stone unturned in the dual competition and clinched their fifth title for their ward. In the individual competition, Legner reached the quarterfinals, and Riegler had only to admit defeat in the individual semifinals and finish third.
Congratulations to ÖTV wheelchair tennis players!
