Solidigm has announced some innovations related to its SSD software. In version 2.0, not only the optics have been modified, but some functions that have been searched for so far have been unsuccessfully added. So far, Synergy software has been used to read the most important system parameters. Firmware can also be updated via this.
In fact, the firmware functions that are now being offered for the P41 Plus and P44 include Fast Lane Mode. Even with earlier firmware, the P41 Plus can use QLC-NAND as an SLC cache and initially store files that need to be quickly written that way. Now the program can permanently store some frequently used data in the SLC cache. However, the functionality also depends on how complete the P41 Plus writes data, because accordingly fewer SLC caches are available.
The purpose of dynamic queue allocation is to relieve the processor and thus ensure faster access to the SSD. Load times should be accelerated with smart prefetching. Both functions are available on both the P41 Plus and the P44. Fast Lane mode is only available for P41 Plus.
There is another interesting point directly related to the software. Synergy 2.0 enables reading of the host memory buffer (HMB). HMB is a cache that uses the memory of the host system. Until now, it was not easy to view the HMB capacity. This is now directly visible.
Version 2.0 is not currently available Solidigm’s support page. But it will appear here shortly.
