VIENNA (PK) – The red-blue commission investigating abuse of power will hold its last two regular days of interrogations next week. The audit committee's agenda includes audit reports on study leaves and the shortage of skilled workers. In the Foreign Policy Committee, MPs discussed the recently presented Foreign and European Policy Report 2022 with Alexander Schallenberg. This year, Parliament celebrates Europe Day on May 9 with a party.

On the occasion of Europe Day, President of the National Council Wolfgang Sobotka and Acting Head of the European Commission Representation Wolfgang Bogensberger invite you to attend a ceremony. Europe Day is celebrated every year for peace and unity in Europe. In this election year – more than seventy years after today's laying of the foundation stone for the European Union – EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn and Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer are participating in the program as speakers. This time, the “Art of Dialogue: Literature in Parliament” series of events addresses the pioneers of progress and the role of women in the Jewish upper bourgeoisie in Central Europe. Run by historian, author and cultural director Marie-Thérèse Arnbaum, Jewish genealogist and businesswoman, addresses questions about women who campaigned for women's rights in the Jewish middle class from the mid-nineteenth century onwards in an expert discussion. They founded the first social and political associations and devoted themselves to educational work. Parliamentary Director Harald Dusse delivers welcoming remarks. National Council President Wolfgang Sobotka is visiting Luxembourg on an official visit. There he will meet, among others, the President of the European Court of Auditors Tony Murphy, the President of the European Court of Justice Koen Lennaerts, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Claude Wiesler for discussions.
