The musician died at the age of 66. He was a British heavy metal legend from 1978 to 1981 and sang on the first two albums, “Iron Maiden” and “Killers.”
British singer Paul D'Anno has died at the age of 66. He sang on Iron Maiden's first two albums – “Iron Maiden” and “Killers”. After being replaced by Bruce Dickinson in the British metal band, he worked as a solo singer and with various bands, but was unable to approach the popularity of Iron Maiden.
In recent years, D'Ano, whose real name is Paul Andrews, has suffered from health problems. He was repeatedly treated for a knee problem and confined to a wheelchair – even at concerts.
It wasn't until July that he met his successor in Iron Maiden for the first time at a meeting in Zagreb. In mid-September, the singer, who also suffered from a weakened immune system and depression, announced that he would no longer tour and would only perform selected shows. A few more concerts are scheduled for 2025. Only in September, “The Book Of The Beast” was released, a sampler of songs from D'Anno's entire career after leaving Iron Maiden. (Echo)
