British company Photocentralization LC has introduced Opus, an LCD-based 3D printer for professional use. According to the manufacturer, the system is suitable for a variety of industries and applications.
According to the manufacturer, the design area of 310 x 174 x 220 mm also allows for printing larger objects. According to the datasheet, the LC Opus achieves a layer thickness of at least 25 µm and an XY resolution of 81 µm. Particular emphasis is placed on speed: with a layer thickness of 50 micrometers, the exposure time is only 2 seconds per layer.
To ensure even curing of the liquid resin, Photocentric uses a custom-made 4K monochrome LCD mask. Photocentric’s patented “Vat-Lift” technology also ensures safe removal even with large print areas.
The sturdy aluminum printer has a 7-inch touchscreen as well as connections for WLAN, Ethernet and USB. The STUDIO 3D printing suite from Photocentric is used as the software. According to the manufacturer, the LC Opus can be operated intuitively and is ready for use immediately after factory calibration.
