Portimao announced as a free track update for EA SPORTS F1 22

Codemasters and Electronic Arts confirm today that Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, better known as Portimao, will be added to EA SPORTS F1 22 August 2 as a free track update for all players*. Also, on September 12**, fans will have access to the Shanghai International Circuit in China. Relive the historic circuit with F1 22 shots taken twice with FORMULA 1 GRANDE PRÉMIO DE PORTUGAL winner Lewis Hamilton in this year’s W13.

“We know our players love the thrill of racing in more circuits, and there is nothing quite like Portimao,” said Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. “Portimao is highly respected and has a proud history, and our players will love the challenge of driving cars designed for 2022 on the esteemed circuit for the first time.”

Portimao is back for the 2020 and 2021 seasons as part of the revised F1 calendar. Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes dominated both years to take the win while his then teammate Valtteri Bottas finished second and third. The 4,684-kilometre mountain track is famous for its steep descent before reaching the finish line completely on the right.
