The idea for a ska music festival in the 1960s came from a group of music-loving people from Baden around musician and Dandifieds member Christian Steffen. As a location, they asked the city council for the Theater am Steig, which would provide the appropriate setting. “Gerd Ramacher met immediately with enthusiasm for our idea and the first Baden SKA & 60’s Night series was born,” says co-organizer Alexandra Sommer, delighted with the privilege.
Two bands will perform live entertainment on Saturday. At 7pm “The Dandifieds” will play Reggae & Ska, followed by “New Attention” around 10pm with the best of the 60’s tunes.
Starting at 5pm, DJ Rare Sugar aka Sascha, DJ Lee van Cleef aka Tarek, DJ “Skanking Night” Clemens and DJ King D will set the mood on the dance floor with vinyl. Guests can also look forward to selling vinyl by Mike West, pop art tapestries by Roger Heidelmeier and vintage costumes by Gabriel Hutzler.
Information on remaining tickets of €20 each is available at the Beethovenhaus at 02252 / 86800-630 or [email protected].
By the way, the next party after the Ska festival will take place on March 25 in the cult bar Baden Tomatte (Vöslauer Straße 4/2, 2500 Baden).
