This competition for music students, which is divided into different age groups, was held in St. Pölten and has been one of the highlights of the music school year for years. A high-level jury awards prizes and gives young artists valuable advice for further training.
“The intense preparation is the most important reward,” says proud music school director Johan Graebner. He also thanks all the teachers who prepared their students well.
Preparation continues for Daniel Freenberger (14 years old) on guitar (Stefan Hackel class). He received first prize with the right to participate in the national competition in Brixen/South Tyrol. He's also understandably very happy. “I'm very proud of my performance and I've put a lot of work into playing it. It's a nice validation,” he says.
He has been playing guitar for seven years, especially intensely over the past two years. He holds the tool in his hand for a few hours every day. “I actually like to play all genres, whether it's rock, classical or romantic,” explains Freenberger, who, by the way, writes his own lyrics and composes songs.
