Animal research
On Saturday, world-famous primatologist and animal behavior researcher Jane Goodall visited the world-famous Konrad Lorenz Research Center in Gronau im Almtal (Gmunden region). During her visit, the 90-year-old planted a “tree of hope” for the newly established Open Science Center research center at the University of Vienna.
The previous day, the zoologist had given a lecture about her research work in Salzburg. Jane Goodall, who devoted her life to primate research for decades, visited Cumberland Wildlife Park and the former research station building of the famous zoologist Konrad Lorenz. There was also an encounter with gray geese, whose complex social behavior is still being researched today.

The Open Science Center building is scheduled to open in 2025, and will “promote transparent and integrative participation in nature-based activities,” the University of Vienna said in a press release on Sunday.
The previous day, Goodall had caused a stir at a buch near Hallein in Teningau. There she gave a lecture about her research to the crowded “Insights Center.”
