Professional Steyr Tractors Made Better

The Steyr Profi Series with a rated output of 116 to 150 hp and a maximum output of 145 to 175 hp will come with improvements in 2022 that give the user better visibility, improved ergonomics, more comfort, greater safety and more options for adapting a farm tractor.

The 6150 Profi, as a top model to the new Profi series and a successor to the 6145 with the 6-cylinder, now has 150 hp thanks to 5 hp more than nominal power without the power boost. For all other Profi models equipped with 4 cylinders, the model numbers and engine power remain unchanged.

The Plane

The biggest changes in the new models are around and inside the cabin. Access is now via a new entry area ergonomically optimized in aluminum grades, as is the case with the larger Steyr Absolut CVT tractors. In addition, the strobe LED entry lighting should ensure additional safety. Furthermore, there is now a cover in the entrance area with an additional external mains switch for the battery, optional heating connections and a pneumatic connection for external connections. Available as an option on Profi and Profi CVT models, a compressed air coupler located under the left door makes cleaning the cab and grille easier.

According to Steyr, the cover plate on the rear of new Pro tractors now provides “access to more ergonomically designed couplings for faster coupling and disengagement.” The redesigned upper hitch console includes a position indicator and improves stability and safety, making it easier to lock the upper hitch and check the position of the upper hitch from the cab.

Other improvements to the exterior of the cab include new, modern LED side marker lights with turn signal function. New optional LED signal lights can be folded to protect against damage.

The low-mode windshield wiper cleans 60% more surface area than the previous version, according to the company. The rearview mirror is now more compact and less annoying. The new windshield wiper/turn signal lever in the vehicle design on the Profi / Profi CVT increases road safety thanks to an improved automatic turn signal switch off via the steering angle sensor.

To make everyday work easier, the cabin now also features a new, high-quality Steyr leather steering wheel and improved storage compartments, including a front coolant compartment for refreshments on the Profi and Profi CVT models. Available as an option, the high-roof cab is equipped with a premium DAB radio with Bluetooth, new premium speakers and a DAB antenna for improved sound quality.

A new screen divider with integrated cable routing and two USB ports makes it easy to control attachments and data logging. A RAM® tablet holder is available as an option and will be installed by the dealer. A RAM® smartphone holder is also available. The new and modern joystick not only allows you to control specific hydraulic functions, but also provides buttons for the reverse shuttle.

Improve CVT driving experience

The latest Steyr Profi CVT tractors are equipped with a continuously variable transmission which, according to Steyr, “can now be configured more individually by the driver and promises an entirely new driving experience.” The driver can configure, store and retrieve transmission settings according to his preferences and business requirements. “The drivability of the Profi CVT has been improved in several ways, including acceleration and deceleration response, shuttle shift response, throttle sensitivity and cruise control bypass. In addition, the sensitivity and position detection of the multi-controller have been improved,” explained the product experts.
