Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM is tightening up the KTM RC 8C. The track bike, which was developed solely for knee grinding, has now been suitably tested by MotoGP stars Brad Binder and Jack Miller.
At the start of the new MotoGP season, KTM is launching a stunning update to the RC 8C for track riders. KTM recently conducted a test with MotoGP stars Brad Bender and Jack Miller, who skillfully pushed the bike in Spain and clearly enjoyed doing so.
The ultra-light motorcycle has been designed specifically for Torque and will be launched in a limited edition of just 100 units. The easy-to-maintain engine is a straight-cylinder with a capacity of approximately 900 cc and 135 hp. Thanks to special traction terminals, the twin delivers additional power compared to the chain. In terms of driving dynamics, the RC 8C falls within the range of a Moto2 race car. The motorcycle is specifically designed for torque – with the special frame made of 25CrMo4 steel tubing, the power-to-weight ratio is 1:1.
Exciting: Winglets like those used in the MotoGP World Championship can be seen on the front end. Technology partners such as Akrapovic and Pankl (bus bars) are also on the side panel. The gentleman's racer is priced at €47,500 – and those interested will have to hurry.
What potential customers of the new RC 8C should definitely know: The bike can be pre-ordered from March 20 – exclusively online. The motorcycles can be delivered on May 8th directly at the Portimão Racetrack, depending on the configuration. Part of the purchase also includes a 'meet and greet' with the stars of the MotoGP paddock. There is more information about the “RC 8C” project on the KTM website.
