Red Bull Salzburg shows interest in the Japanese team player

In the “Red Bull Era” four Japanese players have been under contract with Salzburg so far: Alex, Takumi Minamino, Tsuneyasu Miyamoto and Masaya Okugawa.

Alex and Miyamoto came to Salzburg a few years after the takeover and left the club after one and two years respectively.

Minamino moved to the Bulls team at the beginning of 2015, and left Mozart City for Liverpool FC five years later. Okugawa signed with Salzburg about six months after the current Monaco player and moved permanently to Arminia Bielefeld in the summer of 2021.

In the summer, the Austrian runners-up could strengthen themselves again with a Japanese player.

A goal on his international debut

As reported by Japanese website Spunichi Annex, Red Bull Salzburg are interested in Takumo Kawamura and are said to be willing to put €1.5 million on the table for a transfer.

Kawamura is under contract with Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the Japanese top flight until the end of January 2025. The 24-year-old's team is currently ranked fifth in the championship all year. The coach is German Michael Skibbe.

Kawamura is a defensive midfielder who can also play forward in midfield or attacking midfield.

The left-footed player made his international debut for Japan on New Year's Day and immediately scored a goal in the short match against Thailand (5-0). At the beginning of June, he played his second international match against Myanmar (5-0). This time he was at work for 45 minutes.
