Thanks to the downward compatibility of the new consoles, Rocket League can already be played on them. But it is possible that the successful title will also get an original customer for the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.
Maybe Rocket League Play as an original title on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S for the foreseeable future – and not just, as before, in backward compatibility range. At least that’s what newly leaked documents suggest from the legal dispute between Epic Games and Apple.
The aforementioned documents also address future plans for Epic Games, to which the Psyonix developer is affiliated. Under the heading “What’s Next,” the document contains the corresponding plan to provide a next-generation original customer for the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. Thanks to this, Rocket League can benefit from special improvements due to the better performance of the platforms.
Incidentally, this part also refers to the expansion of the mobile area. Whether that means the spin-off actually advertised Sideswipe League Missile Intended or perhaps an entire branch of the main game, it remains to be seen.
The full mobile implementation of Rocket League can be well planned, because the document also talks about cross-play and crossover progression with respect to mobile phones and all other platforms. This feature is still in the early alpha and beta test phases.
