The 'Höhle' in the center of Graz's Schloßberg has always been popular as a popular venue for rave and club music as well as pop concerts, but now venues in Graz want to make the cathedral in the mountain attractive to other audiences as well: a new track 'Klub Royal' aims to Bringing together renowned artists from a wide range of genres, from swing and pop to blues and jazz to classical, with light and sound at a premium level – or: “extraordinary artists in an exclusive setting”, as the concept of the venues is summed up. The Ambisonics “3D” sound system should also be used whenever possible.
“The Cathedral Makes Music” is the subtitle of Klub Royal’s single, out in February and five dates already scheduled. The innovative string quartet launches radio.string.quartet on February 3, exploring new horizons in a crossover with Tunisian oud player, singer and composer Dhafer Youssef. After immigrating to Austria, Youssef first worked as a dishwasher in Graz, then lived for a long time in Paris and became a star in France, while Herbie Hancock worked on his latest album.
On February 17, Nobert Schneider follows “Ollas Paletti,” and on April 5 “Neuschnee,” a chamber music crossover about Hans Wagner — with influences from Renaissance music to grunge rock. Duo BartolomeyBittmann will guest on May 23, and on June 16, Marina & The Kats will deliver a swing-filled finale to the summer holiday.
