Ukrainian sources reported today that the south and east of Ukraine were the target of Russian airstrikes overnight. The Ukrainian Air Force said via Telegram that the cities of Odessa and Mykolaiv, as well as Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhia and Dnipro regions, had been hit by drones. Air raid alerts went off for hours in several Ukrainian regions during the night. The warning was lifted around 4:30 am (local time).
A fire broke out in the port of Mykolaiv, according to the city’s mayor, Oleksandr Zinkevich. the situation is dangerous. The head of the military department of the Odessa region, Ole Kepper, said that several waves of attacks were intercepted by air defense.
A spokesman for the Ukrainian military administration in Odessa said that the details of the drone attack that took place at night on Odessa will be announced later this morning. Both cities provide Ukraine with access to the Black Sea for grain export.
Ukraine wants to continue shipping grain
Russia did not extend the agreement on grain exports from Ukraine. Ukraine wants to continue exports through the Black Sea even without commitments from Moscow. The Crimean Bridge, which connects Russia to Crimea which was annexed in 2014, was damaged on Monday by an explosion. Moscow reported an attack by Ukrainian drones and threatened to retaliate.
