Sabitzer apparently before moving to Rome

According to a media report, Mourinho’s preferred candidate has already given his consent to the transfer.

It looks like Marcel Sabitzer is about to move to Rome. According to the “Corriere dello Sport” website, the Italian capital club is in negotiations with Bayern Munich regarding the contract with the 29-year-old player, and the Austrian international is considered the preferred candidate for Roma coach Jose Mourinho. A loan agreement with an option to purchase is being negotiated after two years. Obviously, Bayern wants to sell Sabitzer.

At Roma, Sabitzer should earn a net salary of six million euros per season, as he did at Bayern Munich. According to the newspaper, he has already given his consent to the transfer. The midfielder posted a vacation photo on Instagram with the caption, “Buongiorno” (hello in Italian). This is seen as an indication that the negotiations with the Roma are already at an advanced stage.

It is said from Munich that Bayern are not planning with Sabitzer. The club is looking for millions to fund the transfer of England striker Harry Kane. Sabitzer’s contract with the German record holder runs until June 2025. According to “Sport Bild”, Bayern Munich is asking 15 million euros for Styria, which he brought from Leipzig in 2021 for about that amount. And “Sport Bild” wrote that a loan deal with Roma would be an option for Bayern only if there was a commitment to buy.

Manchester United announced the end of Sabitzer’s loan on their website at the end of June. The ÖFB player settled well in Manchester, but suffered a meniscus injury in May and missed the final stages of the season.
