One UI 6 is currently very high up on Samsung’s software roadmap. According to previous reports, the update will already be based on Android 14. According to previous leaks, Samsung is expected to start public beta testing based on Android 14 in the third week of July. And as always, the current best phones of Koreans, in this case the Galaxy S23 series, will be the first phones to be updated. A new Geekbench leak now confirms this theory. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with Android 14 and possibly One UI 6 has been spotted there.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra discovered on GeekBench was a US model with code SM-S918U and carrier lock from AT&T provider. Since this is an experimental program, the final benchmark result may still be different. However, the leak indicates that internal beta tests of the new software may already be in full swing.
If Samsung sticks to its regular release schedules, we can expect at least a few weeks of public testing and at least four public betas. Therefore, the stable Android 14 update with One UI 6 for Samsung Galaxy SS23 series is unlikely to come until September. Of course, other Samsung devices are also eligible for the Android 14 update.
As for the update itself, it’s not entirely clear what One UI 6 will bring other than a few minor changes to the user interface. Android 14 has some prominent features such as deeper battery health information, improved Nearby Sharing, and a new share menu. There’s also a new back gesture and a transparent navigation bar across all apps, just to name a few new features.
One UI 6 Beta appears in Europe and India
While the One UI 6 test builds were first spotted on South Korean Samsung servers, the first reports are now also appearing for European and Indian servers. The news went well with a previous report that Samsung will launch the beta version of the Galaxy S23 series in the third week of July. Of course, history can still change.
