SAS increases capabilities for Asia and the Americas

To meet growing demand for travel to the Americas and Asia, SAS is expanding its flight offerings and increasing capacity on its summer schedule.

For the upcoming summer program from March 31, 2024, SAS is increasing the number of flights and frequencies to both the Americas and Asia.

The Copenhagen-New York (JFK) route will be increased to two daily flights, both with the Airbus A321 LR. These additional flights complement the daily Airbus A330 flights from the two Scandinavian capitals to New York-Newark Airport.

The frequency of flights from Copenhagen to Boston will increase from six times a week to daily. Airbus A350s will be used for these flights, so double the number of seats available. SAS says the expansion will not only ensure daily connectivity but will also facilitate freight movement between the two regions.

A fourth weekly flight will be added from Copenhagen to Toronto. There will be new departure times from Copenhagen, making it easier to connect flights to and from European and Scandinavian cities.

There will be more flights to Asia from April 25. Services to Shanghai and Tokyo will be increased from three to four times a week, significantly increasing seat and cargo capacity.
To meet increased demand during the Easter travel period, SAS is adding a weekly flight on the Bangkok route until April 20.
