The Earth’s magnetic field is extremely important to our existence on this planet because it protects us from the solar wind and cosmic rays. It benefits us like an invisible shield that surrounds the Earth like a comet.
If you travel far north, you can even see our magnetic field with your own eyes. When electrically charged particles are carried to our Earth by the solar wind and collide with oxygen and nitrogen atoms in our magnetosphere, aurora borealis form – visual evidence of our magnetic field.
Researchers at the European Space Agency (ESA) have received signals from swarm
– Converting satellites to sounds so we can now hear the magnetic field as well. Klaus Nielsen from Technical University of Denmark
Also a musician, he has provided support to researchers.
According to Nielsen, the team used magnetic signals from Earth’s core and surface, oceans and magnetosphere, with low-intensity tones representing fluctuations in the actual magnetic field and high-intensity tones representing interactions with solar storms. The entire project was a rewarding experience for him, To combine art and science.
The recording lasts five minutes and the sounds can easily come from a horror movie. you can Listen here for yourself
What seems very frightening is the interaction of our magnetic field with a solar storm. No wonder it sometimes looks like a sailing ship on the high seas.

However, the art does not stop there. From October 24-30, 2022, sounds were played through speakers built into the floor at Solbjerg Square in Copenhagen.
32 of them broadcast magnetic field tones three times a day, with each speaker representing a different place on Earth. The team does not want to scare people with sounds, but rather draws attention to the protective effect of our magnetic field.

Warning: creepy! You can now listen to the sound of the black hole
What do you think about the sound of the magnetic field? After the black hole and now our magnetic field, what would you like to hear next? Write it to us in the comments!
