It was the long-awaited premiere, the first major tournament in which a girl team from SK Rapid participated. Organized by USC Schäffern, our newly formed team of talented young soccer players won the Under-12 Girls’ Championship on Saturday with first place. Under the supervision of coaches Christine Rosner and Lisa Marie Marek Our girls defeated the hosts from Styria, SG Kölmland, SC Brunn Ladies, First Vienna FC and USC Landhaus and finally celebrated undefeated by winning the championship.
The tournament started with a 1-1 draw against SG Clemland, the only single-point loss in the entire competition. “We started slowly but then we got better and better. Even though they only had a few training sessions, the girls were really amazing. We are all very proud,” said Matthias, SK Rapid Women’s Football Manager. Costa after the tournament. After the start, our guys really started to take off. They won 3-1 against USC Landhaus and even beat SC Brunn Ladies 4-0. This was followed by a confrontation between the first two teams. The hosts from Schevern, who ended up finishing second, were beaten 1-0 by young Rapidlers and deservedly so. At the end of the tournament, there was also a 2-0 victory over Vienna. This means first place in the end with a goal difference of 11: 2 and 13 out of a possible 15 points. Well done, girls!
