First Vienna FC has managed to return to the top of the second division over the years. The Döblingers also scored points off the field and were able to form several new partnerships over the winter break. The club currently has 140 business partners.
Vienna/Döbling. Just seven years ago, Austria's oldest football club was on the verge of collapse. Bankruptcy and possible relegation to the Vienna League were looming. Seven years later, the club has flourished, currently sitting fifth in League Two, and one of its biggest partnerships is being expanded.
Contacts were also made off the pitch and the club was able to gain 20 new partners during the winter break alone. In total, First Vienna FC 1894 can look at 140 trading partners at the beginning of February. “Vienna is attracting interest and we are proud to be on this path with our amazing fans and committed partners,” says Vienna President Kurt Svoboda.
Ottakringer remains on the ship
The Traditional Society has had a partnership with the Ottakringer brewery for several years. The brewery located in the 16th District will remain part of the catering offering for the foreseeable future. “The fact that we will continue to work with Ottakringer Brewery in the future and that Ottakringer will continue to be the exclusive beer partner of Blau-Gelb makes us proud,” said Konstantin Orel, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship at First Vienna FC.
It starts again after the winter break on February 17. Austria's oldest football club then plays its first league match of the spring, a play-off against Schwarz-Weiss Bregenz. The small advantage here might be that you are competing on your home turf in Hohe Warte in front of your home crowd.
