State Swimming Championship: Burgstaler girls win in Braunau

Great joy for the Burgstaler family in Mettmach: Magdalena and Sophie Burgstaler appeared at the state swimming championships at the Braunau indoor pool.

Braunau, Mitmach. Magdalena and Sophie Burgstaller from Mittmach showed off their skills at the National Swimming Championships in Upper Austria in Braunau. The Sisters represented the Reed District most successfully and returned with no less than ten medals.

Each starter is gold plated

Magdalena Burgstaller, the younger of the two, was given no chance in the competition and took first place in all five of her entries. She even swam the 200m breaststroke, the third fastest time in Austria in the 2013 class. With this performance, she became the most successful young swimmer at the championships. Magdalena is currently the third best swimmer in Austria in the class of 2013. Now it is time to continue training hard because this year she can participate in the National Championships for the first time.

More than a full set of medals

But Magdalena's older sister also showed the material she was made of. She won the national championship title in the 400-meter freestyle in 2010. As a bonus, she also won two silver medals and two bronze medals. So it was the perfect day for the Burgstaller family.
