DrThe Pepco group is withdrawing from Austria and with it from Tulln Rosenarcade. The branch will remain open for now, but the search for a potential successor has already begun.
Tulane's guest appearance was only short-lived. Pepco opened its 400 square meter branch in Rosenarcade only in July 2023. Two small areas on the second floor of the shopping mall have been combined into one large area on the second floor of the shopping mall specially for the comprehensive provider of a variety of items from fashion to accessories, homewares to toys and stationery.
“We have been informed in a letter of the group's planned withdrawal from Austria,” said Katharina Gfrerer, director of the Rosenarcade Centre. It states, among other things, that “Bepco Group does not assume that its activities in Austria will reach an appropriate size or achieve an appropriate level of revenue.”
Exactly how this draw will work is still being clarified, and the branch in Tulln will remain open until further notice. “Of course it's a real shame. The concept was really good and we received it well,” says Gfrerer. But they are looking ahead: There is still a lease agreement in place with Pepco, but the search for a potential successor has already begun.
