Venus Williams celebrates a successful return in mixed doubles at Wimbledon.
The 42-year-old American, along with Britain’s Jamie Murray, beat New Zealander Michael Venus and Alija Rusulska of Poland in the first round 6:3, 6:7 (3), 6:3. In a relaxed atmosphere on Court 1, it was clear that Williams Murray is delighted with the fantastic cheering after the match point converted.
Williams completed his last singles tour on the WTA Tour at the end of August last year. She has won seven singles titles, 14 doubles titles and two mixed doubles titles in her Grand Slam career.
Her sister Serena celebrated her solo comeback on Tuesday after a year-long injury. The 40-year-old was knocked out of the first round in three sets by Frenchman Harmony Tan.
