Summer Culture Freshness – Hardiger's Summer Culture continues with Suttner, Jazz and Wine

After the Bridge Festival at the end of May, the events continue as part of the Hardiger Cultural Summer. The small town and border community in the picturesque Theatal region wants to continue using the momentum generated by its successful performance in the ORF programme “9 Places – 9 Treasures” last autumn and score points with a diverse cultural programme.

The “Hardegg Cultural Summer 2024” combines established events from the tourist program – such as the Night Watchman's Walk, the City Tour and the activities of the “Kultur•Point Hardegg” exhibition – with a series of high-profile events with nationally known artists. All this in close cooperation with local clubs and organizations. And this is how it continues:

July 27, 2024: Thomas Suttner meets jazz and wine

The next item on the programme of this cultural summer resort is the well-known author and essayist Thomas Suttner. The Waldviertel native presents his works “The Girl on the Border” and “Only Two Old Men” in the centre of the village of Niederfladnitz in a dialogue with the jazz duo Florian Nentwich and Daniel Mock. They will be followed by a musical programme and the evening will conclude with a wine chat organised by the Johannes Rockenbauer winery.

August 24, 2024: Sound Activator – Swing Low – Fly High

The a cappella group Stimmetoniker will perform in the Blessing parish church on August 24 with a program under the motto “Swing low – fly high”. Half of it will consist of gospel songs, modern pop songs or entertainment songs. The singers come from Vienna and the Weinviertel.

September 15, 2024: BAG Hollabrunn's Wise Bubbles

This traditional event is all about preserving tradition and authentic folk music. Small groups of wind bands from the entire Hollabrunn brass music region come to Pleissing to develop and promote this type of music making. Weisenblade fans can enjoy the various contributions in the wonderful atmosphere of the elementary school garden.

September 22, 2024: Theatal Chamber Orchestra

The Thayatal Chamber Orchestra is a professional ensemble whose members work mainly with Brno orchestras. It was created in 2020 as part of the “Silbauer Thayatal Music Festival”. The orchestra also performs in various projects under the direction of Swiss conductor Sébastien Thomas Pagenaud. Since 2023 it has been working with composer Daniel Mock.
