FPÖ Deputy Leader Marlene Swiasek commented sarcastically on the recent meeting between Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. “Anyone can have dinner with Nehammer. Espresso with capitano Matteo Salvini only true right-wingers,” the deputy governor of Salzburg wrote on Instagram under a photo shared with Salvini.

The photo appears to have been taken during the annual meeting of Italy's right-wing populist ruling Lega party in Pontida, Lombardy, on Sunday. Svazek represents FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl there. Prominent figures came from the European party coalition “Patriots for Europe”, led by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and the head of the prominent Dutch government party, Geert Wilders.
Salvini's League party is the junior partner in the Italian government, which is led by right-wing populist Fratelli d'Italia (FdI) Milones. Nehammer posted a photo with Meloni on social media on Saturday, which appears to show them having dinner in Rome. The ÖVP party leader reported that he had a “friendship” with his Italian counterpart.
Meloni did not comment on the meeting with Nehammer on social media. Salvini also posted just one photo on his Facebook page of the LaLiga meeting in Pontida, where Wilders can be seen taking a selfie with him, Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán and the head of Portugal's right-wing Cega (Kafa) party, Andre Ventura.
