Linz. Selected Austria’s 15 most beautiful books of 2022 – in the “Scholarly Publications” category you will find “Out of Darkness” by Angela Koch, Hubert Lupnig and Moritz Machke, all three teachers at the University of Art and Design Linz. The book was designed by Alexandra Molner, a graduate of Konstony Linz.
The competition is always organized by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport and the Main Association of Austrian Book Trade. A specialized jury made up of experts from the printing, binding, typesetting, design, publishing, book trade and media sectors evaluates the submitted books and selects 15 of them from the “Austria’s Most Beautiful Books” list. Above all, the focus is on design and manufacturing quality.
Out of the Darkness, from the “Scientific Publications, Textbooks, and Textbooks” category, is described as “magazine-like, archive-like, quiet yet complex and complex, dense yet generous.” He goes on to say: The bilingual publication from Verlag Sonderzahl invites the viewer to break away from traditional reading techniques, discover the content, make connections to it and, ultimately, ask questions.”
