The Paris 2024 Olympic Games came to a close with the closing ceremony last Sunday. It is no surprise that Roland Garros was chosen to host the tennis competition from July 27 to August 4, the site of the classic clay Grand Slam tournament of the French Open, which was completely transformed in Olympic attire. Austrian tennis was represented at the Olympic Games this year not only by ÖTV’s top professionals Sebastian Ofner (lost in the second round) and Julia Graber (defeat in the first round), but also, fortunately, once again by the officials. As in the last two matches, Sabine Pilz was once again used as an assistant referee at Paris 2024. The 31-year-old from Lower Austria enjoyed her time in the French capital, and also left great impressions of the impressive opening ceremony, which this time took place off-court for the first time, and of the other sports facilities. A unique experience that paid off in full for Pilz.
