The Uhudlerlandestheater will be showing “The Freyschütze” in the Tabor Castle in Neuhaus am Klausenbach from Thursday. The adaptation of Carl Maria von Weber's opera invites you to sing along to the musical songs.
“To make difficult plays easy” – this is the motto of artistic director and director Martin Wink. The Uhudlerlandestheater is staging “Freyschützen” at Tabor Castle for the ninth year in a row. According to director Erhard Bauer, the devil and his assistant are the main characters: “They are looking for a pure soul in the audience, but they can't find one. Then they meet Max, a shooting master, a sniper. A completely pure soul.” That's why the young hunter Max is supposed to be tricked into making a pact with the devil. He hasn't hit the target with his rifle for weeks, but the dark forces offer him a tempting solution.
The musical concept was created together with the artists. “We worked until the end to make sure it all went together,” explained musical director Joe Pinkel. Among other things, the piece “Brenna tuats guat” by Hubert von Goisern, “Macho Macho” by Reinhard Fändrich and “We need men” by Stephanie Werger are performed.
