The Federal Swimming Pool on the Old Danube is already preparing for the new season. The booth and canteen in the bathroom are facing changes.
Vienna/Donaustadt. Most people may not feel like swimming yet, but the Federal Swimming Pool on the Old Danube is already looking forward to next season. Preparations are well underway, and in addition to the usual maintenance work, the kiosk in the entrance area is also undergoing a comprehensive renovation.
The new kiosk will offer an expanded assortment in the future, including magazines, bath products, refreshing drinks, small snacks and essential items for a perfect day at the outdoor pool.
Looking for tenants
Castle Captain Reinhold Sahl explains: “The establishment of this small 'mom and pop' shop is intended to significantly improve the local offer for our swimmers. The kiosk will be clearly differentiated from other gastronomic offers at the Federal Baths.”
But it is not only the kiosk that is facing changes, but also the canteen, which is the heart of the pool. The canteen will be re-rented this season. The Austrian Castle Authority, which runs the federal pool, is initially considering a temporary “pop-up”-style lease before starting a long-term contract. Those interested have until the beginning of March to apply.
