A coach from Merdingen travels to America on scholarship. Staying broadens your perspective – and awakens your desire to travel.
When Sarah Jung talks about it even today, she gets ecstatic. Merdinger spent two and a half weeks at first and a few months later for a full year America. As a result, the event manager not only expanded his professional profile, but also grew personally. He received support from a scholarship specifically supporting apprentices. However, he did not experience his first culture shock during his travels in America.
The 22-year-old began his training at Messe München in September 2019. His boss often supported the Joachim Herz Foundation’s “Apprentices in the USA & Canada” (Azusa) overseas program, which is why Jung came up with the idea of applying for the scholarship. Undecided, he applied for a six-week college program, primarily classes at Kennesaw State University (KSU) in Atlanta, Georgia, and an eight-week internship.
