Martin Hörz-Weber dominates the end of the season and takes overall victory at the Tour.
The Wheelchair Tennis Tour of Austria (WTTA) organized by Coloplast achieved success this year with five tournaments and celebrated its culmination in Bad Ischl. Tournaments in this popular recreational and recreational sports series of wheelchair tennis were held in Leibniz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Brunn am Geberg and Bad Ischl. The finish in Bad Ischl was particularly notable, setting a record for this year's series with 13 participants.
The top two seeds, Martin Horz-Weber (STTV) and Karl Lutz (STV), reached the final with confident victories in two sets. Horz-Weber asserted his dominance there and clearly triumphed over Lutz 6:1, 6:2. Horz-Weber had already proven his skills at international level, which was now also evident in Bad Ischl. Third place was shared by Gebhard Schweiger (TTV) and Wolfdietrich Fritz (STTV).
In addition to the singles, Hörz-Weber also managed to win the doubles competition with his Styrian partner Peter Tuckner. In the final they defeated the duo of Wolfdietrich Fritz / Karl Lotz 6:1, 6:4. In the consolation competition, Denis Fliszczak defeated TTA rookie Martin Wunderlich 6:1, 6:4.
WTTA overall win for Hors Weber
Martin Hörz-Weber capped his outstanding performance with an overall win on the WTTA Tour. In three appearances in the tournament, he achieved the highest number of victories and thus collected the highest number of points, replacing last year's champion Gerhard Schuster. As a reward, Hörz-Weber was proud to receive the main prize, a JURA coffee machine.
Due to the weather conditions, the tournament was held in Bad Ischl indoors, which was organized perfectly thanks to the barrier-free facility and three hard courts. ÖTV's Stefan Schuh thanked tournament organizer Alex Bucewicz, the TC Bad Ischl team, partners and sponsors who made this successful series possible.
