Visually, ninja theories Sage Senua: Hellblade 2 Break all previous limits. In a tweet, the development studio has now announced that they’re using title technology that brings anamorphic effects used in cinema to the video game. So far, effects like this can only be found in movies.

In this way, Hellblade 2 is said to offer an “immersive cinematic experience”. The cinema atmosphere consists of a mixture of distortion, chromatic aberration, spherical aberration and bokeh effects. Ninja theory shows you the difference with and without these effects in a small video.

So far, we’ve only seen a few trailers for Hellblade 2 and picked up a bit of info here and there from the developer. Hellblade 2 will appear on Xbox and PC – but when is still unclear. Hopefully there will be more soon – perhaps at the Game Awards?
