The man is said to have been swallowed by a humpback whale – he survived

In the United States, a fisherman claimed to have been swallowed by a whale and then spat again. The incident took place near Cape Cod on Friday morning (local time).

Michael Packard is an experienced diver who catches crabs on the sea floor. But now he himself was the victim. According to his own account, a humpback whale swallowed him on his second dive. He told the American media that he spent about 30 seconds inside the whale. Then he was spit on by the whale again. During his time in the mammal, he was able to breathe continuously with his diving equipment.

“Suddenly I felt this big bump and the next thing I knew it was completely black,” Packard recalled Friday afternoon after being discharged from Cape Cod Hospital in Hynes. “I could feel myself moving, I could feel the whale squeezing with the muscles in its mouth.”

There are no eyewitnesses to how he was swallowed by the whale, but there is his release. His colleague Josiah Mayo saw the whale appear and spat out Packard and shared his observations with his sister Cynthia.

Humpback whales can grow up to 15 meters in length and feed on grills and small fish. They are known from the water for spells and acrobatic jumps. Cape Cod is famous not only for its crabs, but especially for whales in April.
