Austria with two peaks
Ralf Rangnick uses a 4-4-2 against Azerbaijan. As already announced, Heinz Lindner will be in goal on Friday. The Sion goalkeeper has four defenses in front of him.
In the absence of David Alaba and Philippe Lenhart, the center is now Kevin Danso and Gernot Trauner. In place of Stefan Posch, Phillipp Mwene is on the right side of the ÖFB defence. Maximilian Wöber plays as a left back.
Nicholas Seewald will play in midfield, alongside Marcel Sabitzer. On the wing, Patrick Wimmer once again gets his chance to present himself in the national team. This would be the ÖFB’s second assignment for the Wolfsburg professional. The other winger will be played by Konrad Leimer.
With Michael Gregoric, there is a coach-striker in the starting line-up, alongside him will be Christoph Baumgartner.
With Flavius Daniljuk and Jonas Auer, there are two players on the bench on Friday who could make their international debuts during the match.
