The perpetrators from Würzburg are said to have picked up the knife in a dispute

By March 2021, a note was examined from another resident, according to which the man said on the phone in late 2015 or early 2016 that he had committed crimes in Somalia when he was 12 years old. The test was stopped because the claim could not be verified.

After this incident, he was again admitted to a psychiatric hospital, but was released a day later. Doctors came to the conclusion that “there is no danger to others or to oneself.” In none of the incidents did the man become violent.

The offender went to the household appliances department

The man apparently attacked people in Würzburg in the late afternoon of Friday. According to investigators, he entered a department store at 5 p.m. and went to the household appliances department. There he asked the saleswoman for knives and took one out of the show. Stabbed a saleswoman who died of her injuries on site. Then the offender went to the store and killed two more people.

Two minutes after receiving the emergency call, the first police officer was at Barbarossaplatz. At this time, the offender had already been pushed into an alley by passers-by. There, the police stopped the man with a bullet aimed at his thigh and arrested him. It is now in custody.
