DrA striker from Würzburg has been observed several times in the past with psychological problems. This was announced by Bamberg Prosecutor Wolfgang Grundler during a press conference on Saturday. In January, the man got into an argument with his roommates and the managers of the homeless shelter where he was living. He threatened her with a kitchen knife but did not attack her. So he was investigated for threats and insults. In addition, he was temporarily admitted to a psychiatric institution.
By March 2021, a note was examined from another resident, according to which the man said on the phone in late 2015 or early 2016 that he had committed crimes in Somalia when he was 12 years old. The test was stopped because the claim could not be verified.
In June 2021, the Somali finally stood in front of a car in Würzburg and forced it to stop. He got into the passenger side. After this incident, he was again admitted to a psychiatric hospital, but was released a day later. Doctors came to the conclusion that “there is no danger to others or to oneself.” In none of the incidents did the man become violent.
The offender went to the household appliances department
Investigators have now found hate messages at the homeless shelter. This was said by chief criminal director Armin Konert. Item has been secured but not yet evaluated. The messages on the detected mobile phone still have to be investigated, which takes some time due to the foreign language used.
The man apparently attacked people in Würzburg in the late afternoon of Friday. According to investigators, he entered a department store at 5 p.m. and went to the household appliances department. There he asked the saleswoman for knives and took one out of the show. Stabbed a saleswoman who died of her injuries on site. Then the offender went to the store and killed two more people.
Two minutes after receiving the emergency call, the first police officer was at Barbarossaplatz. At this time, the offender had already been pushed into an alley by passers-by. There, the police stopped the man with a bullet aimed at his thigh and arrested him. It is now in custody.
According to Police Chief Gerhard Kallert, the store’s detective heard the man shouting “Allahu Akbar” during the crime. The terms “Allahu Akbar” and “jihad” were also used against officials. “We have to evaluate everything else now.” Cell phone reviews are especially important.
Six people were seriously injured in the attack and another was slightly injured. Two people have since been discharged from the hospital. Police said the life of the seriously injured man was still crowded on Saturday afternoon.
