The Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion has been playable for about three weeks, and in addition to continuing the campaign, it has also brought with it a new class: the developer studio has already revealed the “Spiritborn” class as the fastest and most aggressive class yet announced. At least that promise was kept very closely, because the spirit spawn quickly attracted attention with its seemingly ridiculous damage numbers – so much so that Blizzard had to step in with the first hotfixes.
Diablo boss Rod Fergusson didn't miss this either, which is why he's now started a community survey via his X/Twitter account. However, this is “non-binding” and is intended to satisfy Ferguson's curiosity. The question is simple: should the Spiritborn be trimmed and damage numbers brought in line with other classes, or should the new Vessel of Hatred class remain unchanged because Diablo 4 players enjoy it?
At least when it comes to choosing between weakening the Spiritborn or keeping it in its current form, the direction of the Diablo 4 community is clear. 63.1% of about 10,000 votes did not want the new class to change in this regard; The rest are logically consistent with the demand for a better balance compared to other classes.
In the comments under Fergusson's post and the Diablo subreddit post he references, a third option was also mentioned, which simply wants higher damage from barbarians, mages, etc. However, it seems that they no longer read the Diablo boss's last sentence in the article, because he deliberately did not offer this option.
