Is Austria back on the road to success?
In the disappointing World Cup qualifier so far, the ÖFB team will go to the Faroe Islands (8:45 p.m. on the live stream) to undo a mandatory victory. Otherwise, Franco Voda’s job security in particular is not in good shape.
As is well known, the head of the team has to dispense with ten well-known members of the management team in Torshavn. Following the influx of cancellations, these eleven should rule the initiator on the underdog:
Austria (Open Tactical Formation): Backman. Trimmel, Ilsanker, Hinteregger, Alaba; Laimer, Grealish; Onisiwo, Sabitzer, Kainz; Kara.
With that, Fouda decided to give Erkan Kara a chance from the beginning and trusted the qualities of a fast striker on the front line.
The 25-year-old, who has played the Joker in his four international matches so far, is preferred over Michael Gregorich.
Mainz member Karim Onisio, who was also named by the team boss as a candidate for the position of nine, is also in the starting line-up, but is likely to come in the center of the winger.
On the left, Fouda is relying on Cologne Corps Florian Caines to bring new momentum. For Styria, it is the first international match since November 2018.
As announced, Fouda relies on an experienced midfield crew with Florian Grealish, Konrad Laimer and Marcel Sabitzer.
Stefan Ilsanker is vacant in the middle of the defense due to the absence of Aleksandar Dragovic and Philip Lenhart alongside his Frankfurt teammate Martin Hinterger.
Barcelona youngster Yusuf Demir does not have a chance from the start.
