A great TV, your favorite console, and of course the right game – all are important components of our favorite pastime. At the very least, it is also important to have a controller that fits well in the hand and creates a direct connection to Aloy, Master Chief or Super Mario.
We asked you some time ago which console you prefer to play with and a total of 7,083 people voted and chose a clear winner.
These are the best consoles ever
In our survey, of course, we not only asked about current hardware, but also chose memorable console variants such as the Sega Genesis, Gamecube or Super Nintendo. One of them even made it to the top five with a large number of votes.

As expected – with one exception – current consoles in particular received a lot of votes, which is not particularly surprising because from a technical point of view they are of course the most advanced devices and therefore have the most advanced features.
The exception just mentioned concerns the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Cons. Although the console is very popular, standard controllers only managed to collect 40 votes, putting it in penultimate place on the list with less than 1% of the votes.
After all, Pro Controller managed to convince 6% of you with 543 votes and reached at least sixth place.
But we don't want to torture you any further, so here are our five favorite consoles.
Fifth place: GameCube controller
Luxury Gamecube controller It is considered one of the best video game input devices to date, not only among retro gamers, but also among you. The now 23-year-old console is particularly noticeable at first glance due to its appearance reminiscent of an alien spaceship.
After its initial release on September 14, 2001, a few months later, it was given a rattling wireless version, the Wavebird, and today we can still use the device on the Nintendo Switch with a special adapter.
Fourth place: Xbox 360 controller
At the same time as the console of the same name, Microsoft introduced 2005 Xbox 360 controller One that remains incredibly popular not only in our society today. Above all, the form factor and asynchronous stick arrangement have been repeatedly praised.
When it was released, the device was available in both a wired and a wireless version. The second can be powered either by batteries or using a separately available battery pack – a feature that has been retained to this day and in the current generation.
