TI-volley to the top of the AVL table with a win in the first match

Super Cup champions TI-Schuh-Staudinger-Volley regained the lead in the AVL Women’s Championship on Saturday.

Innsbruck Women pushed ATSC Kelag Wildcats Klagenfurt off the top of the table and won the big round 6 match at the USI Hall 3-0 (25:21, 25:21, 25:14). The Wildcats were the last undefeated AVL team heading into this weekend.

“We were able to build and manage a lead in the first two sets,” says TI boss Michael Faulkner. “The visitors started well in the fourth round, but in the end they could not withstand our sustained attacking pressure.”

Wildcats coach Andre Fleiss added: “We had opportunities, but unfortunately we did not play with enough consistency. They took advantage of all our weaknesses.”
