On the occasion of the silver anniversary, world-famous and national artists took the stage in Carinthia this year and attracted many music lovers to the live event.
The first “Starry Night on Lake Wörthersee” took place in July 2000. At that time there were stars such as Udo Jürgens, Eros Ramazzotti, Paul Young, Helene Fischer and many others. This year, 25 years later, on July 13, international and national musicians from the world of pop and world music gathered against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful lakes in Austria to perform their songs live – including Christina Stürmer, Melissa Nasschenung, Reinhard Fenderich, Marianne Rosenberg, Andreas Gabalier, etc. The event was moderated by Barbara Schönberger and Hans Siegel.
Visual taste
In the run-up to the event, the documentary “Starnacht am Wörthersee – The best of the 25th anniversary” was screened, capturing the best moments and biggest hits from the past 24 shows. In addition, Star Night was also broadcast as a Eurovision show outside of Austria by MDR, HR, NDR and SWR and streamed live by ORF On – the latter also making Star Night available as a video on demand.
Party atmosphere the day before
The party mood on Lake Wörthersee was already heating up on Friday. Not only did city mayor Christian Schieder attend the rehearsal and present IP-Media with an anniversary cake. The invited celebrities and musicians were also loaded onto three ships by IP Media owner Martin Ramusch and Intersport chairman Nils Klingohr, where the Seitenblicke party was waiting. Leberkas-Pepi took care of everyone's physical health that evening. Vienna mayor Maria Schiedei took charge of the catering with his daughter and offered the guests truffle liver cheese and a version of hot pepper. Soft refreshments were also available in the many bars on site.
Familiar faces
Also present at the 25th Star Night and seen on stage were Bülent Ceylan, Thorstein Einarsson, Simone Rossi, Volkshilfe, DJ Ötzi, De Seer and Chris Steger. Among the guests were also the mayor of Klagenfurt Christian Schneider, State Councilor Daniel Fellner, dancer Conny Krütter, Wörthersee Tourism Managing Director Peter Peschel, ORF Director Harald Krütter and his fellow ORF Entertainment Director Martin Gästinger. But there were also TV presenter Eva Pölzl, Radio Kärnten program director Martin Weberhofer, BEV.COM owner Klaus Mild, Transgourmet boss Gerald Santer, Wörthersee shipping boss Daniel Dörfler, as well as Willi Kugel from Denzel Zitta-Perchtoldsdorf and Hans Berger from Eichwald Wine.
