Tour de France visits Denmark for the first time in its history. To start in Copenhagen, road planners designed a 13.2-kilometre pilot course through the Danish capital. The Tour of France will begin with a time trial for the first time since the Grand Départ 2017 in Dusseldorf.
As is usual on the street circuit, the track passes through several sights: including Copenhagen Castle, the Little Mermaid, a city landmark, and Amalienborg Palace, the residence of Danish Queen Margrethe II. The theme park is also close to the finish line, Tivoli and Town Hall.
However, drivers hardly notice any of this on the road, because a perfectly flat track with its sharp turns to the right and left requires maximum concentration. Knowing the good path is essential. Most of the roads are wide and the surface is good.

Round One: Favorites
The Specialists should have an advantage in this course – and therefore also in the fight for the first yellow jersey of this round. The course is prepared for professionals such as World Champion Filippo Gana (Ineos Grenadiers).
But you should also consider Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma), as well as Swiss Stefan Bissegger (EF) and Stefan Küng (Groupama). You must never lose sight of Matthew van der Poel, and in front of her fans, Danes like Mikkel Bejerg (UAE), Mads Pedersen (Trek) and Kasper Asgren.
Among the candidates overall, Tadej Pogacar, Primoz Roglic and Geraint Thomas are ranked first, while the pure climbing specialists have to limit the damage.
