Trump: Israel should attack Iranian nuclear facilities

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump expressed his support for an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.

When US President Joe Biden was asked about this matter, “The answer should have been: Strike the nuclear first and worry about the rest later,” as Trump said at an election rally in the US state of North Carolina.

He was referring to Biden's response to the possibility of Israel launching an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. Biden recently spoke out against the Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities and also advised against attacking Iranian oil facilities.

Iranian Foreign Minister in Damascus

In a related development, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakshi arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus. An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Arakshi wanted to hold talks there about the situation in the region, among other matters. The previous day, the minister was in Beirut for talks.

On Tuesday evening, Iran attacked Israel with about 200 missiles — the second time after the first direct attack with hundreds of drones and missiles in April. Iran said that the missile attack came in response to the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran at the end of last July, which was attributed to Israel.
