According to the Ukrainian army, Russia began to mobilize resources for the storming of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. This came from the General Staff report, which was posted on Facebook at night. At the same time, Russian troops tried to take full control of the cities of Irbin and Bucha, which were outside Kyiv. From there it is only a few kilometers from the northwestern city limits.
The sources said that the Russian units also wanted to gain a tactical advantage by reaching the eastern outskirts of Kiev via the Brovary and Boryspil regions. According to the Ukrainian Internet newspaper Ukrajinska Pravda, an advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Minister Vadim Denisenko said in a TV program that a relatively large amount of Russian equipment and troops had accumulated on the roads to Kyiv. “We assume that the battle for Kyiv will be the main battle in the next few days.”
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on his Telegram channel that the fighting is taking place near Kyiv. The city continues to collect all the resources to defend it. He had visited several roadblocks on the city’s borders, and the security forces were determined to repel any attack.
