Technical issues: United Airlines temporarily suspends all flights in the US

US airline United Airlines briefly grounded all departures on its own planes on Tuesday due to a technical glitch. The airline announced on Tuesday that due to a “system-wide technical issue” at Platform X (formerly Twitter), all flights would be grounded at the airports of departure for the time being.

“Flights already in the air will continue to their destinations as scheduled,” it said. After a while, the airline gave the all clear and wrote in X that the departure stop had been removed.
The airline initially did not provide any details on the background of the disruption. The FAA wrote that the departure ban on United Airlines for the USA and Canada has been lifted again.
