eBay temporarily enters brick and mortar sales during the Christmas season: pop-up shops open for Christmas business in Detroit, Miami and Houston, USA – information about secret locations is available through social media.
EBay, an online marketplace, opens pop-up stores called “Hard to Find Gift Shops” in the US cities of Detroit, Miami and Houston for Christmas business. The name says it all: standard stores are supposed to be intact – hard to find. eBay only provides location information on social channels the day before the respective store opens.
Sneakers, collections, watches and handbags
Shops in each city specialize in specific themes: sneakers (Detroit), collections (Houston) and watches and handbags (Miami). This offer also includes an online store.
eBay already tested a similar concept on Black Friday 2019 and opened a one-day pop-up store called “Black Friday Escape Room” in Manhattan.
“We’ve built hard stores to revive our choices – from rare and sought-after products to products sold everywhere,” said Jordan Sweden, Senior VP and GM, eBay North America.
