A grand jury has indicted six Republicans in the US state of Nevada for falsely declaring that Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election.

Attorney General Aaron Ford said Wednesday that he will do everything he can to protect the nation and state institutions. Nevada is the third state to press charges against so-called “fake voters.”

All six defendants submitted signed affidavits to Congress in December 2020 claiming that Trump received the most votes in Nevada. In fact, the Republican Party lost to the Democratic nominee and eventual winner of the election, Joe Biden.

The certifications were ultimately ignored in Congress. Ford began investigating six Republicans last month after initially denying such activities.

Ford has introduced a bill that would criminalize false statements like those made by the six in Nevada. The bill passed the state’s Democratic-controlled Legislature but was vetoed by Republican Governor Joe Lombardo.

He described the punishment of imprisonment ranging from four to ten years as very severe.

According to his own words, former US President Donald Trump will not become a dictator if re-elected – except on his first day in office. What does this statement mean?
