Vienna Derby No. 343 Flood Relief

Vienna Derby No. 343 Flood Relief

Our country has been in suspense for several days due to the devastating flood disaster, which primarily affected Lower Austria, but also affected the birthplace and district of SK Rapid, Vienna-Penzing, and many regions throughout the republic.

Many people are facing the ruins of their existence and SK Rapid wants to do its small part to ensure that at least short-term financial assistance is increasingly available to those affected through donations.

For the Green-White, the days surrounding the upcoming 343rd Vienna derby (Sunday 22 September from 5:00pm at the Allianz Arena) are all about the crest. “Help and donate together” Some activities are planned (see below) to collect as many donations as possible for the initiative. “Austria helps Austria in flood disaster” a cooperation between ORF and leading aid organizations in Austria.

“Last year, with the support of many Rapid residents, we were able to raise a proud sum following the flood damage in Carinthia and I hope that this year too, in light of the major flood disaster, we will be able to alleviate the suffering of the affected people a little. The Rapid family has repeatedly shown great willingness to donate and show solidarity and I am convinced that this will also be the case this time. In addition, it is very important for all those responsible at SK Rapid, including myself personally, to show great respect to the emergency services for their often voluntary work. As a symbolic token of thanks, we will extend an official invitation to the members of the volunteer fire brigades in Lower Austria to our home game after the next match against LASK, provide free tickets and hope that many firefighters will be able to follow this up and spend pleasant hours with us in Hütteldorf on the Saturday after next.”SK Rapid General Manager, Stephen says: HoffmanWho took the initiative to launch this campaign.

Pius StrobelAs ORF's Head of CSR and Fundraising, he says: “The water goes, but the destruction remains. Every donation, big or small, can make a meaningful difference. It can help rebuild a destroyed home, replace essential household appliances, or simply meet daily needs. When it comes to floods and destruction of this magnitude, what is needed is quick and unbureaucratic help. The donations collected through AUSTRIA HELPS AUSTRIA are used to help people who need it most urgently. We would like to thank the large RAPID family in advance for their solidarity with our fellow citizens in the affected areas.
