Tyrolean forests and Asian scents
The top ten of the 24 participating bartenders gathered at the Krugers Bar in Vienna for a delicious test of strength. The “Alpine” delegation was also strong, ideally suited to herbal liqueurs: Yannick Sieber (“Adler's Bar”, Innsbruck) provided the fir liqueur, while Sascha Ripple (“Ginhaus”, Zell am See) accompanied the hunter's excursion. Cranberries and “liquid earth” put on. Like Sieber, Anna Dorfman also came from “Adlers Bar”, while the Innsbruck trio was completed by Yegor Krasnokutskyi (“FloJo Bar”). The drink by Joanna “Jojo” Luger (“Bordock”, Salzburg) showed that spices and herbs are also being incorporated in abundance elsewhere – she launched a Bollywood-ready mango lassi version with “Manifest”.
It didn't taste any less strange Japanese inspired cocktail “Shogun's elixir.” Alexandre Mali, an experienced kitchen participant from Christopher's in Maria, brought shiso paste and miso as ingredients. Jan Macek (“Frau Dietrich”, Linz) in turn added vanilla and saffron, “the most expensive spices”, to the herbal spirit. In this way, the ten-minute suspense arc highlighted “the journey of a poor deer who wants to see more of the world than just the forest.” For Florian Buren, such creations were clear evidence of “how versatile the Manifesto is as a mixed spirit.”
